Yunlin County is located in the northern part of the Jianan Plain and from north to south it is about 38 kilometres while from east to westit measutes some 50 kilometres. The total area is 1290.81square kilometres,divided into 20 districts with a popilation of 753254. Tothe east the border is with Nantou County and to the west lie the Straits if Taiwan.The northern border with neighbouring Chang Hua County is formed by the Chou Shui River and the southern border with Chia Yi County is formed by the Bei gang River.

This police bureau has 1588 full time employees of which police officers number 1521.There are seven divisions for:administration
,foreign affairs,Mainland affairs,census peace preservation and civil defense,training,and logistics.There are another seven offices for:secretariat, accounting,information,security,personnel,and publicrelations.A further four departments are concerned with peace preservation,traffic,criminal invesuigation, and juveniles. There are also two centers for operational command & control and civil defence control.The total units are 20. Apart from the central police bureau in Touliu,there are also six police precincts in Touliu, Tounan ,Huwei,Hsilo,Beigang and Taihsi along with a further 65 stations and substations. |
